Two new Liebherr all-terrain cranes recently were added to ALL’s crane rental fleet for its customers in the south. The cranes include a 600-ton Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 and a 350-ton LTM 1300-6.2.

The company already owns two Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 ATs, which have serviced jobsites in the northern United States and Canada. The new machine will be shared among the ALL branches in the south.

Suited for work at industrial job sites, such as setting large transformers in power plants, lifting tower cans for wind farm, or setting steel in refineries. Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 is ideal for for customers who want a single machine to travel roads, traverse uneven terrain, and handle heavy lifting in tight spaces. The LTM 1500-8.1 will be equipped with long (276 ft.) and short (164 ft.) boom systems.

“In some cases, only transporting the short boom will save the customer time and money,” said J. Hutton Strader, business development specialist for ALL. “And with the boom systems interchangeable between machines, that gives an added bonus in terms of flexibility.”

Liebherr’s LTM 1300-6.2 is a mid-range capacity AT with a single-engine design that can go into drive mode for highway speeds and switches to crane mode for lifting. According to Liebherr, the design lowers fuel consumption and results in less total machine weight, allowing for a larger superstructure and additional lifting capacity with a heavier load or longer boom. The automatic shift into ECOmode when idling for a period of time means increased efficiency, though the operator maintains ultimate control over the power transfer and can switch to drive mode whenever necessary.

The new Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 will be based in Atlanta.
